Mozambique:
Emergency food for thousands to families

This year, in different districts of Mozambique or , there are many people who, because of the drought are suffering from hunger. In Nhamatanda district, one in which there is a greater number of children and supported one of the most affected by drought, have lost about 28,000 hectares of cereal crops, which have involved 22,450 households from a total of 40,150 existing. To pay the consequences are particularly children, often forced to go to school without having eaten anything, with little results learning.

so again this year, in cooperation with WFP (Pro gram but World Food), we continue to distribute food to the children supported at a distance, through or our local counterpart, Acção Solidaridad. Monthly
each of them receives 10 pounds of rice (or corn), 5 pounds of soy, 3 pounds of beans, the amount set by PAM. Along with food, are d istribution
products for personal hygiene, clothing or useful items for the whole family.
